The following notes are an update of our last meeting on August 18, 2016:

Greetings!

Fair Week
I want to thank everyone who helped staff the fair booth during Fair Week! Thank you’s go to:
Susan and Bill, Stephanie and Steve, Chuck and Margaret, Charles and Suzanne, Norberta and Marv, Ruth, Noreen, Piers, Wayne, Sherry, Sam, John, and Lani!
We couldn’t have done it without you!

Grand Opening

I also want to thank everyone who was able to attend the grand opening of the campaign office! We had a great turnout with several new faces!
Special thanks go to Piers, Steve, and Susan who helped me set up, and everyone who contributed refreshments for the event! We had a wonderful variety of goodies to choose from!
Thank you’s to Charlie and Suzanne, Steve and Stephanie, Susan, Lani, and anyone else I may have forgotten!
Your efforts were sincerely appreciated!

We were also treated to a full size stand up of Hillary. Provided by Larry and Kathy Price, they are allowing Hillary to reside at out office until Election Day at which time Hillary will be hustled off to election day festivities!
Many of us got our pictures taken with her! You can have one taken too! Just drop by the office during office hours with a camera!

Campaign Office Staffing

Please check out the staffing schedule that is attached. We are terribly short handed! There have not been enough volunteers to keep our office open as often or as long as we would like. At this time we have only a few times covered on Thursday 11:30 – 2:30 & 2:30 – 5:30 and no one signed up to do Friday 11:30 – 2:30

Volunteers will only be responsible for:
* Sharing materials and resources in the office and accepting donations !!!
* Writing down questions that might be asked which they cannot answer, but can be directed to me or someone else who has the answer.
* Having individuals write down contact information if they would like to be on the contact list or volunteer to do phone banking, precinct walking, mailers, etc.
* While it would be wonderful for volunteers to sign up for several weeks in a row, it is not required. You can sign up for whatever day and time works best for your schedule. (Ideally, we would have at least 2 people at the office at all times.) You can also sign up to be a fill-in in case one of the regularly scheduled volunteers cannot be available for a particular day. (I will need one on September 17th.)

General Meeting Update

A large percentage of our discussion centered on what we can do to help our regional, state, and presidential candiates further their election efforts. Our office is providing campaign information and materials on the candidates and some of the ballot initiatives. We will also be hosting another Meet and Greet on September 8th for Rob Rowen and Jim Reed. The Hillary campaign is requesting assistance in doing phone banking in battleground states. We will also be doing phone banking and precinct walking, and hopefully mailers for our regional candidates. We will also be doing recruitment from FRC. Please let me know if you can help me with this! More complete information is below!

Campaign Materials
Campaign materials are either in the office, on order, or have already been mailed. We will be asking for small donations to cover the costs and to further our own efforts in promoting the candidates.

*Rob Rowen has already provided literature and yard signs.
*Jim Reed has “mini” bumper stickers, brochures, buttons and will be providing yard signs within the next 10 days.
*Hillary materials in the office include bumper stickers, buttons and window signs. Yard signs and a greater variety of items for Hillary, will be available as soon as we receive them.

*If you would like yard signs, send me an email which includes your name and telephone #. Signs are limited; so act quickly!

Meet and Greet for Jim and Rob

This is a fundraiser! Our candidates are struggling to raise money in a Republican dominated region. There can be no voice if we Democrats don’t help them get their message out. My plan is to have a dinner followed by a Meet and Greet at the office.
If there are Democrats who would like to host a “Meet and Greet” in Chester, Greenville, or Portola/Blairsden, let me know! We might be able to get something together!

Sept. 8, 2016
4:00 – 5:45 Early Dinner and Reception (Location to be determined)
6:00 – 7:00 “Meet and Greet” at the Office (Hopefully we will have some traffic from the last Farmer’s Market coming by!)
Our PCDCC general meeting will follow 7:00 – 8:00 or 8:30

Remember you can donate directly to Rob and Jim. We have envelopes in the office. You can find out more about them by visiting their websites. Their websites might have instructions for donating if you want to donate online or through the mail!
