The Plumas-Sierra Political Coalition (PSPC) is putting these words into action. Through unified, grassroots efforts, we are working together to protect our democracy and defend the constitutional rights, values, and ideals that our nation strives to achieve.
Who We Are & Our History
The PSPC was originally founded during Donald Trump’s first term as President. As a direct response to the administration’s attempts to upend democratic norms, an upwelling of local activism took shape in our community.
Prior to the 2018 midterms, local residents and left-leaning voters organized two major groups: the Indian Valley Indivisibles (IVI) and the Eastern Plumas Indivisibles. Organized with the help of Indian Valley and Chester Democrats, these groups provided a politically active space for residents who shared Democratic ideals, even if they didn’t strictly identify with the party.
In 2018, the Plumas County Democratic Central Committee (PCDCC) celebrated these local Indivisibles as “partner resistance” groups. To effectively organize against the MAGA movement and Trumpism, the PCDCC invited them to form a unified front. Because Plumas and Sierra County Democrats were already coordinating politically, the Sierra County Democratic Central Committee (SCDCC) was also brought into the fold. This powerful new partnership officially became the Plumas-Sierra Political Coalition.
The need for organized resistance has only grown. In February 2025, following the election of Trump to a second term, the Quincy Area Indivisible (QAI) was formed in much the same grassroots manner as the IVI. Shortly after their formation, QAI was proudly welcomed into the PSPC.

Our Mission
The member groups of the PSPC support one another by sharing crucial information and mutually promoting and organizing local events.
When Democrats and left-leaning voters unite, our communities win. By standing together, we ensure that our shared values triumph and that we build a stronger, more equitable future for everyone. Our ultimate goal is to safeguard our democracy and uphold the ideals and values enshrined in our Constitution. We truly are stronger together.
