Earth Day – A Brief History and Call To Action

April 22 is the anniversary of Earth Day. The first Earth Day, April 22, 1970 was celebrated by more than 20,000,000 Americans. The health of the world’s population and its diverse live forms were endangered by rampant pollution in the air, in the water, and in the soil. The growing movement prompted Congress to take action. Over the next 10 years Congress passed laws to address pollution. All these legislative gains to protect our health are now being threatened by the Trump administration.

The System is Rigged: Prop 50 is How We Fight Back

Donald Trump and Texas Republicans are making an unprecedented power grab to steal congressional seats and rig the 2026 election before voting even begins. Other Republican states are following suit. To counter this new wave of Republican gerrymandering across the country, Governor Newsom has proposed a redistricting ballot measure for California, the “Election Rigging Response Act”. This is our chance to lead the nation in defending Democracy.
