Earth Day – A Brief History and Call To Action

April 22 is the anniversary of Earth Day. The first Earth Day, April 22, 1970 was celebrated by more than 20,000,000 Americans. The health of the world’s population and its diverse live forms were endangered by rampant pollution in the air, in the water, and in the soil. The growing movement prompted Congress to take action. Over the next 10 years Congress passed laws to address pollution. All these legislative gains to protect our health are now being threatened by the Trump administration.
